McAngels Soar at 8th Annual Sweetheart Dinner Dance & Raise Over $100,000 for RMH-LI
New Hyde Park, NY (March 2011) On Friday, March 19th, the 8th Annual McAngel Dinner Dance attracted over 400 guests and raised over $100,000 for The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (RMH-LI). This year's theme was "A Touch of Red" to recognize RMH-LI's 25th Anniversary and was held at The Inn at New Hyde Park.
"The McAngels are true role models for their children and the community," said RMH-LI Executive Director Matthew Campo. "Their continued hard work and commitment to our mission is incredible and for that we are truly grateful."
With over one hundred raffle and silent auction items, those in attendance had an opportunity to win exciting prizes as they enjoyed a night full of dancing and mingling - all for a great cause.
Western Beef was the event's Red Table Sponsor, while Golden Wing Sponsors included - Lee Tu, Top Banana, E.W.G. Glass, The Delorio Law Firm, M&M Packaging Inc., D'Arrigo Brothers of NY, Gerald Laurino & Family, Hudson River Fruit Distributors and The O'Sullivan Children Foundation.
The McAngels acknowledged fellow McAngel Melanie Battaglia and her husband, Joe, of Western Beef, for their extraordinary support in the event's fundraising efforts.
The McAngels Auxiliary began nine years ago when a group of friends decided to become involved with RMH-LI. Their mission has been to develop compassion and the spirit of charity within the community and in their children. Since their inception, the McAngels have raised over $550,000 for the House.
The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a 'home-away-from-home' for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located in New Hyde Park on the campus of the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York (formerly Schneider Children's Hospital), the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since opening in 1986, approximately 15,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries around the world have been served. Many of the families are from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding Metropolitan area.
