Deepika Thadhani Named RMH-LI PR & Marketing Coordinator

New Hyde Park, NY (November 2011) – Deepika Thadhani, a recent graduate from Towson University in Maryland, has been named PR & Marketing Coordinator at The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (RMH-LI)!

Deepika holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations and Advertising, as well as a minor in Business Administration.  She was actively involved at her alma mater, serving as the Vice President of Programs for the Towson University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) and President of Lambda Pi Eta, the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA).

Her responsibilities included planning professional development activities for members, updating social media outlets to raise awareness for these organizations and fundraising to support special events. Deepika’s coursework, previous leadership positions and internship experience at RMH-LI and 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore contributed to her fluency in strategic planning, writing, social media and interpersonal communication.

“We are so glad to have Deepika back at the House and look forward to her helping us raise awareness about our mission,” said Matthew Campo, RMH-LI Executive Director. To learn more about Deepika, please contact her at dthadhani@rmhlongisland.org or 718.343.5683 ext. 138.

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located in New Hyde Park on the campus of the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York (formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital), the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since opening in 1986, approximately 14,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries around the world have been served.  Many of the families are from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding metropolitan area.
