April 7th Media Event Set To Kick Off 25th Anniversary for RMH-LI
New Hyde Park, NY (April 2011) – Since 1986, The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island (RMH-LI) has served as a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children. To build awareness for the much anticipated 25th Anniversary, RMH-LI has teamed up with Elaine Levine of MPG and has invited several of the most influential members of the media for a cocktail party on Thursday, April 7th at the House. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet RMH-LI staff, volunteers and resident families while learning about the exciting events the House has in store for 2011.
“Our 25th Anniversary Media Event promises a Who’s Who of media professionals,” said RMH-LI Executive Director Matthew Campo. “The theme of our 25th Anniversary is ‘Looking Back…Moving Forward’; therefore, our Media Event will not only inform the media for our upcoming events, but it also gives us the opportunity to thank those who have supported us over the years.”

The Ronald McDonald House of Long Island is a ‘home-away-from-home’ for families who are caring for seriously ill children undergoing medical treatment in area hospitals. Located in New Hyde Park on the campus of the Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children’s Medical Center of New York (formerly Schneider Children’s Hospital), the House accommodates families in a warm and supportive environment. Since opening in 1986, approximately 15,000 families from the United States and more than 80 countries around the world have been served. Many of the families are from Queens, Suffolk and Nassau Counties, as well as the surrounding Metropolitan area.
